Huddled up with nuclear power
April 8, 2007
One must wonder which came first–my fascination with environmental toxins and hazardous waste, or my love of 1950-1990 movies which are focused on nuclear power, superfund, toxic sludge, and haz mat.
Regardless, instead of being in NY for Easter with my family I am sitting in Philadelphia juggling a few tasks at once–writing my research paper on Brownfields on the Delaware River, watching The China Syndrome and other fictional accounts of what nuclear breakdowns would be (ever see Silkwood?) and crocheting granny squares.
Has anyone ever noticed that Michael Douglas is even smarmier in the 1970s/1980s? It must be the long hair.
