First favorites

April 12, 2007

I always read a lot growing up, and was a big fan of certain books. Kurt Vonnegut was my first writer that I was a big fan of–as a writer, for his stories and books, and as a personality. I really found him an interesting person, seperate from the plots of his novels.

Well, only a few days after Sol DeWitt dies, this first favorite of mine has passed as well. Needless to say, I know that because of his huge impact on the written world, both for literature academics and non, this won’t be the last we hear of him. I just hope this doesn’t mean someone is going to make a motion picture of his life, like with Hunter S. Thomson. A Vonnegut media craze would just be so off.
